    OF SUSTAINABILITY

    Sustainability is more than a trend for us and is central to our orientation: Since our founding in 1889, we have managed our company responsibly and in harmony with nature.

    Economic success combined with ecological and social responsibility is an integral part of Rotho. We therefore consider it essential that we continue to think about our understanding of sustainability every year and bring it into line with the major developments of our time.                 

    Sustainability is a journey and our goal is a future in which it is taken for granted. That is why sustainability is one of the four pillars of our corporate strategy, on the basis of which we define our
    "Zero Waste Vision".

  • A JOURNEY TO ZERO WASTE

    We currently see the biggest developments in these six areas:
  • As a plastics manufacturer, we are committed to using climate-neutral and high-quality plastics and to using resources responsibly.
    Sustainability is not a trend for us. As early as 2009, we laid the foundation for the use of recycled materials with the Müli waste garbage can and the first Paso. Already today, all our products are 100% recyclable.

    • In 2021, 35% of products were made from recycled material
    • All products are 100% recyclable

    No use of harmful additives such as BPA

    • Awarded with sustainability certificates such as the Blue Angel and Ecoloop

    TARGET UNTIL 2030

    By the end of 2022, 40% of products will be made from recycled materials.
    By 2030, we will use recycled and environmentally neutral plastics for all production, which can be 100% recycled after use.

Our products ensure that your belongings remain well cared for, fresh and durable for longer. We are convinced of the durability of our products and offer a 20-year warranty.

    • Our products help to keep personal belongings (e.g. Evo Total Protection) protected, food (e.g. Fresh Dynamic Box) fresher for longer and thus save money in the long run. That is why we talk about Zero Waste of Money

    We will continue to develop products that support our customers in their everyday lives. Our focus will increasingly be on long-life concepts that have a positive impact on the environment and the wallet.

  • Turning waste into gold

    Vegetable and fruit scraps = garbage? No way!

    Raw fruits and vegetables are perfect for composting and should always be separated from residual waste - whether for your garden or the organic garbage can. Did you know that composting food waste reduces emissions and enriches the soil for gardening?

  • Sustainable action has a high priority at Rotho. We consistently continue the use of renewable energy sources. We have a long-term oriented energy management system with which we improve our energy efficiency.

    • Photovoltaic systems in five out of six locations and on more than half of our roofs
    • Heat recovery for heating

  • We focus on sustainable packaging solutions, both in-store and online. New concepts, materials and innovations to find a sustainable solution for packaging material and to reduce it as much as possible.

    Today, our shipping packaging already consists of at least 85% recycled material and is 100% recyclable.

    • Launch of sustainable product packaging strategy and implementation of recycled packaging material for POS implementation by 2024
    • Our product packaging will consist of up to 100% recycled material by 2030
  • Do you still have boxes left over from your last order? No reason to just throw them away!

    With the cardboard boxes you can still craft numerous things.

  • We want to make our contribution to climate protection and have therefore decided to become climate neutral by 203. Together with ClimatePartner, we launched the climate neutrality project in 2022 by determining and reducing our CO₂ emissions.

    We are on the way to CO₂ neutrality.
